Good
morning!
So what is in your way to ultimate happiness? Work (or lack
there of), a partner (or lack of one), or too little education
(or lack of common sense)? We all can fabricate an excuse… or
two….or more. Do you have any tangible goals? …Hey…that might be
a start. Many “dreams” are for a state of being rather than any
finite goal. Boys who have attained the rank of Eagle Scout make
it because they break that big goal into smaller projects.
Twenty one separate merit badges must be earned…. each one with
a set of criteria under the guidance of a counselor. Each badge
shows the boy a new area of pursuit as a future skill, vocation
or hobby. Essential skills learned by repeating the process in
many different areas are project management. Have a goal, have a
plan, get some guidance, work the plan, enjoy the rewards. Boys
who obtain the rank of Eagle find it easier to get into colleges
and make about 25% more money than those who were never in
scouting. If you find you “aren’t getting anywhere” then you
might want to get specific about your goals, formulate a plan,
ask for mentoring, and follow through. If you want to soar with
the Eagles you may have to start acting like one.

2)
Internet site sells fake contraceptive patches. |
| |
Patches containing no active ingredient were cheap! Site was in
India….. home of many people. They wanted cheaper.... careful
what you wish for...you may get it.... you may not.

3)
Pharmacist fired….did not fill Rx for post coital contraception. |
| |
The mechanisms of action of Preven and Plan B include the
prevention of implantation of an fertilized egg. Some consider
this equivalent to abortion. Laws allow for conscientious
objection in most states. Most require that you inform
your employer of any ethical convictions as soon as you are
hired so "other arrangemnts" can be made. The woman did receive
the drug at another store. These drugs are being considered for
OTC status. I'll go out on a limb and let you know I side with
the pharmacist..... if you have no convictions and won't
stand up for your beliefs then you might as well be a filling
robot.

5)
Norvasc found in with Lipitor…..on purpose! |
| |
Caduet is a new combination of two older products. Lipitor and
Norvasc are combined into one pill. This will mean only one
copay for two drugs. Cost information is not readily available.
Twenty years ago their were many fixed ratio combination
products. The FDA made a conscious effort to eliminate those.
Now it appears that the new FDA is allowing the pendulum to
swing back. This one may prolong the “franchise” of both
Norvasc and Litpitor but does not appear to be the most
clinically desirable combination. I don’t expect anyone to use
the term BLOCKBUSTER for Caduet (Ca from Calcium channel blocker
and Duet from the use of two together)..

6) “Yes
you are fat! Yes you need Xenical! No we won’t pay for it!” |
|
Benefit plan exclusions stand up The Blues don’t have to pay for
Xenical for weight loss even if “medically necessary.” (You
might want to file a copy of this one away for future use.)

Fantasy Island wanted Orson Wells instead of Ricardo Montalban.

7) Weird
Al Yankovick was right ...not Zoot Suit Riot ….
but Grapefruit Diet |
| |
Eating 1.5 grapefruit a day linked to weight loss and better
insulin profiles….. with no other dietary changes…. sounds too
good to be true ( this is a reputable Journal). The Florida
Citrus Growers should like this.
